Soprano Ukulele Tuning

Standard tuning G-C-E-A

The unique sound of Soprano ukulele comes from the 4th string which is tuned to a higher pitch than the 3rd. string.  This style is technically known as “re-entrant” tuning.  Most common soprano tuning is G-C-E-A (also called the C or High G  tuning). The first G string can be low or high (an octave difference).

Full step up tuning

Another common tuning for the soprano ukulele is the higher string-tension D6 tuning or Full Step Up from standard ukulele tuning.  Full step up is A4-D4-F#4-B4
